After two days of driving, the tire pressure light comes on indicating a malfunction. Checked all the tires and the pressure was all good. I think it's time to get rid of that light and those TPS sensors. _________________ IF IT DOESN'T INVOLVE YOU, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT. |

Okay, this is what I found out about the TPMS system. The sensors are programmed into your computer. If you change them, they need to be reprogrammed at the dealer so that the computer can read them. I also found out that the sensors triger the light when there is a difference between the four of them. _________________ IF IT DOESN'T INVOLVE YOU, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT. |

The problem with mines is that I bought a new set of sensors for the new wheels. The original ones are still in the stealies. I was going use those original sensor in my other set of wheels that I want to run someday. I did not realize that the sensors needed to be programmed with the scan tool for it to function properly. I found all this out on Scion Life. They have a lot of threads on the TPMS problems. _________________ IF IT DOESN'T INVOLVE YOU, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT. |

When I went to my storage unit today, I stacked my stock wheels and tires on a wagon and wheeled them out behind my car. Started her up and just like magic the tire light went off! Put them back in storage drove off and in about 5 miles the light came back on again. I guess I need to have them programmed by the dealer so that the computer can recognize my new wheel sensors.
Or maybe just drive around with my stocks in the back to get that lowered look! _________________ IF IT DOESN'T INVOLVE YOU, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT. |

I guess the reason why I could drive nearly a hundred miles when I first put on my new wheels and tires without the light coming on, is that for the first few days, I had my stocks in the back of my car until I finally had a chance to go to my storoge unit to drop them off. Now I recall that shortly after dropping them off, the light came on. _________________ IF IT DOESN'T INVOLVE YOU, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT. |
