|For current SE Hawaii members it is also posted in the private section of our forums for discussion..
First the Board would like to say thank you and commend all our Liaisons for volunteering and contributing to the success of SE and the continued support over the years. We all have experienced different levels of growing pains within SE; some have been favorable others may not have. Over the last year SE has become more about business and money then the club that was once a thriving refreshing vibe to the car club culture. The changes that will be implemented in the next several weeks will also be apart of the growing pain process. It may be easy for some to follow and continue with SE, others may choose not to accept them and part ways.
With that being said… The board has decided to go to a “private forum” format with some public forums available to guests. Official registered SE members will benefit from this in the upgrading of the SE website server and providing each registered SE member with a SE email address and some other web based features that are under development. It is understood that SE may experience some reduction in members due to these changes. However in the long run SE will benefit from the true core of the SE family who will continue to participate within their own chapter and with the National SE organization.
Question: New membership processing
Resolution: Chapters will have the option to continue to use the main SE membership processing or have a designated membership representative.
“Chapter DMR” Designated Membership Representative responsibilities:
1.) The designated membership representative of the chapter will be responsible for submitting new membership applications and dues to SE National Membership Representatives. They also will be accountable to receive, stock and properly distribute “T” shirts and decals to new paid memberships. (A predetermined stock of “T” shirts and decals sent to a chapters DMR is based on chapter size and renewals)
2.) When application is submitted it will be documented by the designated membership representative that “T” shirt and decal have been issued.
a) Upon confirmation of the paid new member application to SE “NMR” National Membership Representatives the new member email, ID and private forum access will be generated and sent to the member.
b)The SE National Membership Representatives will complete the process by sending the “T” shirt and decals of the new membership to the chapters designated membership representative to restock the issued “T” shirt and decals completing the New Membership process.
3. This process is only available on New Membership applications. Renewals will be the responsibility of the members and not of the Chapter Liaison or Designated Membership Representative.
Question: Disposition of membership monies
Resolution/explanation: New Membership a “T” shirt, decals, ID card, 1 year membership to the SE private forum and (1) one SE.org email address.
Question: Disposition of renewal fees
Resolution: Membership Renewals reduced membership renewals $10 per year. Renews your official SE membership status, online access to the new SE private forum, continued use of email address and a new ID card. Member is responsible to submit their own renewal dues directly to SE via Paypal or Money Order by registered mail only.
F.Y.I. Any current and up to date members that have paid the $20 renewal membership dues prior to 06/30/2008 will be rolled over to a paid 2 year membership renewal and will not have to renew until 02/20/2010.
Question: Maui/Chapter status/Ron’s access
Resolution: Maui forum will be returned to previous separate forum, Mod status given to Ron on Maui forum and posting access to the “chapter discussions” forum.
Question: SE Annual Budget
Resolution: The new SE reduced renewal and standard one time new membership dues will maintain the operational expenses of SE, the website and restocking of chapter membership packages. Scion Evolution is not a public corporation and requires no membership shareholders, or disclosure of any budgets or financial status. Membership to SE is as it has always been a paid membership to an established National Organization.
